EVM vandalisation: HC breather for BJP MLA candidate in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Orissa High Court (HC) today granted anticipatory bail to BJP MLA candidate from Satyabadi Assembly segment Om Prakash Mishra in connection with the alleged EVM vandalisation at a polling booth in Puri during third phase elections on April 23.

Senior counsel and BJP leader Pitambar Acharya informed this today.

Earlier on April 25, police had issued a lookout circular against Mishra, who is reportedly absconding following the EVM vandalisation incident. Besides, three special squads weer formed by the police to to nab him.

Meanwhile, police have arrested two supporters of Mishra- Manas Samantaray (32) of Khordha and Akshaya Kumar Biswal (34) of Kanas- for their alleged involvement in the offence.
