Ex CM Hemananda Biswal shifted to a private hospital in Odisha capital

Former Odisha Chief Minister Hemananda Biswal, who had been admitted to Veer Surendra Sai Institute of Medical Science and Research (VIMSAR) following acute chest pain yesterday, was today shifted to a private hospital in Bhubaneswar in order to avail better healthcare facilities.

As per sources close to him, Biswal was first rushed to Jharsuguda Sadar Hospital after he complained of chest pain while returning from an event at Thakurpada under Kirimira block on Wednesday night.

He was later referred to Burla based VIMSAR last morning after he complained of angina and uneasiness. He had been admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Cardiology department in the hospital, sources said.
