Ex-Odisha bureaucrat Bijay Nayak new Additional Press Secy of Draupadi Murmu

Bhubaneswar: Former bureaucrat from Odisha and well-known litterateur, Bijay Nayak, has been appointed as the Additional Secretary (Press) to President Draupadi Murmu.

He assumed the charge at Rashtrapati Bhavan on Monday.

Earlier, the retired IAS officer was appointed as the Officer on Special Duty (OSD) of Odia University, a varsity coming up at Sakhigopal in Puri district. He resigned from the post in June last week.

Bijay Nayak was the Private Secretary to Draupadi Murmu when she was the Minister of Commerce & Transport and Fisheries & Animal Resources from 2000 to 2002 in Odisha Government.

This apart, he had also served as the Private Secretary to former Odisha minister Manmohan Samal.

Bijay Nayak has also made his marks in literature. He has been the Editor of literary magazine ‘Kahani’ for last two decades.
