Fake hand sanitizer factory busted in Odisha’s Cuttack

Cuttack: A fake hand  sanitizer manufacturing unit was busted in Cuttack yesterday, police said.

Acting on a tip-off, Cuttack Drug Inspector Jagannath Mallik and Zone-3 Drug Inspector Dharmendra Puhan along with their team of police officers conducted a raid at the duplicate hand sanitizing manufacturing unit in Sec-11 of CDA here. The team recovered chemicals and Ascorl syrup worth lakhs of rupees from the spot.

These were being sold in the nearby areas of Cuttack city.

All the stock was seized and the detailed assessment of the seized material was underway.

The Centre brought masks and hand sanitizers under the Essential Commodities Act in the wake of the coronavirus scare.
