Fake magistrate held in Gurgaon for duping people

Gurgaon, Aug 9 :

A man was arrested for posing as a Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) and duping several people of Rs.4 crore, police said Saturday.

Aashish Kumar Bishnoi was arrested from Hisar Friday and police are grilling him on a three-day remand.

Bishnoi from Hisar district of Haryana was duping people for over four years over allotment of plots in Haryana Urban Development Authority (HUDA) sectors.

Incidentally, Bishnoi had close links with senior police officials, many of whom were present at his daughter’s birthday party March 23, 2013.

“Bishnoi duped businessman and people from high society of nearly Rs.4 crore. The fraud amount could be much higher,” Vivek Sharma, joint commissioner of Gurgaon police (crime), told reporters.

Crime branch (unit one) chief Yashwant Singh and his team arrested Bishnoi after a woman, 30, known to the accused, filed a complaint against him.

“Bishnoi has been harassing me on the basis of my obscene pictures in his possession,” the woman said in her complaint.

“Bishnoi employed a personal security officer (PSO) and driver and used red beacons on luxury SUVs in which he travelled. He used to tell people in Gurgaon that he is posted in Hisar while he fooled people in Hisar saying he was CJM in Gurgaon,” Sharma said.

The accused lives with two “wives”, one each in Gurgaon and Hisar and has three children from them. Besides, he also has some other women friends.

The officer added: “The ‘wives’ and other women were aware of Bishnoi’s ‘business’ and his relations,” the officer added.

He was living here in sector 52 and sector 13 in Hisar. The accused is a graduate from a college in Punjab’s Bhatinda.

“The accused planned to dupe high society people nearly eight years ago. First, he posed he was preparing for judiciary examinations and than advertised he has been appointed as a judge,” Sharma added.

Bishnoi’s father is a retired draftsman from HUDA while his mother is an upper division clerk in the Haryana government. His only sister is married to an army officer.
