Farmer couple electrocuted to death in Odisha village

Berhampur: Saturday turned out to be fateful for a farmer couple as they were electrocuted to death after coming in contact with a live wire at Burupada village under Hinjilicut police limits in Ganjam district in wee hours today.

The deceased have been identified as Heena Samal (65) and his wife Bisnu Samal (55).

Sources said  the couple went to their farmland at around 4 AM today to pluck cauliflowers. There, they came in contact with an 11 KV live wire that was snapped from a electric pole. On being informed, their son Gouda Samal rushed to the spot and admitted them to a hospital in Hinjili.

However, doctors declared them dead at  the hospital.
