Film distributor found dead in car in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Feb 2:

Government Railway Police (GRP) recovered a dead body from a car parked near the Railway station in the Odisha capital this evening.

Th dead man has been identified as Kulamani Mishra of Cuttack, who worked for film distribution companies Archita Films and Pramila Films.

A team of GRP officials, led by IIC Soubhagya Swain, reached the spot soon after the body was spotted to investigate the case.

The body was found in a sleeping condition on the rear seat of the car with the registration number OR 05 AC 1737 in the parking area of the railway station in a suspicious condition.

An identification card, a wallet and some cash was found in the pocket of the deceased.

Later, the team was joined by GRP SP Sanjay Kaushal. “We will verify the CCTV footage and have called the scientific team to reach the spot to investigate into the matter,”Kaushal said.

“We will also verify the call details of the mobile phone recovered from the pocket of the deceased, which would help us ascertain the reason behind the death of Kulamani Mishra. We also have to wait for the autopsy report to know the exact reason behind his suspicious death,” the GRP SP said.

Pradip Mohanty, an employees at the parking lot said the car driven by the deceased entered the parking lot at around 8 am today. “But we got the news of his death from the media only now,” he said.

The deceased was staying at Kaphla area of Reba bagicha in Cuttack with his wife and a son.

Ananda Chandra Mishra, the brother of the deceased said; “My brother had left house early in the morning today informing his wife that he was leaving for the airport to receive some guests. From morning till afternoon 2 pm, our family tried to contact him on his mobile every few minutes but failed to reach him as he did not receive any of  our calls. Then we searched every possible location like the airport, bus stands and finally traced my brother’s car from Bhubaneswar Railway station parking lot.”

Meanwhile producers, film hall owners and distribution house owners reached the incident spot and demanded a thorough inquiry into the matter.
