Puri: A major fire broke out in a coach of a train at coaching depot in Odisha's Puri, today.
The fire mishap took place at around 12.30 pm when the train was present at the washing line for cleaning purpose. The fire emerged from the bottom portion of the coach, reports said.
The particular coach of the train was severely damaged in the blaze. Fortunately, no casualty was reported in the incident as passengers were not present in the train.
On being informed, Fire Services personnel reached the spot and doused the flames.
"The coach that caught fire was separated from other coaches of the train, for which further spread of the fire was prevented. Though the exact reason of the fire mishap was yet to be ascertained, it is being suspected that electrical short circuit from battery might have led to the outbreak of fire," a Fire Services officer said.
