Fire dept seals basement halls of hotel in Odisha capital. Here’s why

Bhubaneswar: A team of Odisha Fire Services Department today sealed two basement halls of a hotel near Nalco Square here due to lack of adequate fire safety measures.

The hotel was earlier issued a notice with a deadline to upgrade the fire safety measures after an inspection by officials of the department.

Recently, fire safety status was assessed at several shopping malls and hotels in the city and notice was served to as many as ten of them for violating fire safety norms.

The notice had warned them of action in case of not complying to it.
