Fire in Odisha’s Puri Jagannath temple, contained

Fire broke out at the Bimala Temple on the Jagannath Temple premises in Odisha’s pilgrim town of Puri in the wee hours today.

According to reports, servitors spotted fumes in the Sara Ghara of the Bimala Temple at around 5 am on the premises of the 12th century shrine. Before the blaze could do futher damage, the fire tenders reached the site and contained the blaze.

No major damage to property of casualty was reported, sources added.

Meanwhile, the officials are investigating into the matter to ascertain the reason of the fire incident.
