Fire mishap at factory guts properties worth lakhs in Odisha’s Baripada

Baripada: A major fire broke out at a carton factory near Manchabandha on the outskirts of Odisha’s Baripada town in Mayurbhanj district gutting properties worth lakhs.

According to reports, family members of the owner of the factory, who reside on the upper floor, spotted smoke emanating from the factory around midnight. On being informed, Fire personnel rushed to the spot and initiated efforts to douse the flames.

Around 4-5 trucks of cartons have been reduced to ashes in the fire. While the factory has eight rooms, articles inside five rooms were gutted in the mishap.

Though the reason behind the outbreak of fire is yet to be ascertained, it is suspected that electrical short circuit might have led to the incident.
