First in Odisha: App to help reach police in Twin City soon

In what is going to be the first such initiative in Odisha, the commissionerate police would soon provide a mobile app to the people in the Twin City of Bhubaneswar and Cuttack that would enable them to contact the police directly and instantly.

The innovative, specially developed app would be launched by Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik  on the occasion of the eighth foundation day of commissionerate police at the 7th Infantry Battalion premises here on January 15, commissioner Dr RP Sharma said.

“The app will have all relevant data about the commissionerate police like the details of all police stations in the Twin City, including their landline phone numbers, the mobile phone numbers of the concerned officers and the entire range of services provided by it,” the Twin City commissioner said.

“The denizens of the Twin City can download this app on their smart phones and contact the police instantly,” he added.

Apart from this, a Traffic Education Park near the Traffic Police station in Bhubaneswar and a Traffic Education Hall in Cuttack would be inaugurated on the eighth foundation day of the commissionerate police.

Commuters violating the traffic rules would be trained at the Traffic Education Park, Sharma said, adding that this apart, the commissionerate police would also organise separate road-on camps and a blood donation camps in the twin city on its foundation day.
