Five-day ‘Enterprise Odisha-2013’ from Friday

In a bid to create a level playing field for the beleaguered Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in the state by locating potential buyers of their products and to provide them the necessary market linkage from large industrial players, the CII Odisha chapter is organizing ‘Enterprise Odisha – 2013’ starting from Friday here, officials of the CII informed.

Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik will inaugurate the 5-day long event to be held in the capital city from Friday till November 26.

Besides, this fest will make these small and medium units aware about recent trends happening in the Information, Communication and Technology (ICT) arena, which will help them to enhance their productivity and grow their market reach manifold, CII officials said.

Seminars on topics like ‘Vendor Connect’ and ‘Empowering SMEs through ICT intervention’ will be part of this symposium, which the CII has been conducting in collaboration with the Government of Odisha in the state since 1995.

Also, a talent competition for innovative ideas called ‘Innovex 2013’ is going to be held wherein Diploma and ITI students will showcase their creative models that can be adapted by the industry in their day to day activities.

“Enterprise Odisha has the objective to epitomize the state’s epic journey from virtual nowhere to a place of pre-eminence in the industrial space. It also symbolizes prosperity, growth and development of the state through industrialization,” MK Gupta, Chairman, CII Odisha State Council told media persons here today.

“Over the past 18 years, Enterprise Odisha has grown into a powerful platform showcasing products, connecting businesses and educating civil society about the role industries play in creating jobs and boosting economies,” Dr Saugat Mukherjee, Regional Director, CII Eastern Region said.
