Five Odisha GPs selected for National Panchayat Awards 2023; Details here

Bhubaneswar/New Delhi: Centre has selected five Gram Panchayats from Odisha for the National Panchayat Awards 2023.

The Ministry of Panchayatiraj announced awardee panchayats under various categories of National Panchayat Awards 2023.

As per an official notification issued by Economic Adviser Bijaya Kumar Behera today, total 9 GPs in different states have been nominated for Deen Dayal Upadhyay Satat Vikas Puraskar, of which 3 are from Odisha.

Similarly, two GPs from Ganjam and Sundagarh districts have been chosen for the awards under Special Category Awards.

As per the office order, four Gram Panchayats from Ganjam district have been nominated for the prestigious national panchayat awards.

While three Gram Panchayats in Ganjam district, which is Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik’s home district, will receive Deen Dayal Upadhyay Satat Vikas Puraskar, Ankuli GP under Patrapur Block in Ganjam district will be awarded the Gram Urja Swaraj Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar in Special Category Awards.

One GP from Sundargarh district has been nominated for the National Panchayat Award under two different categories.

The awards will be presented to the panchayats by President of India Droupadi Murmu at National Conference on Incentivization of Panchayats-cum-Award Ceremony on April 17, 2023, in New Delhi.

Here’re details of the awardees:

• Kanchura GP under Hinjilicut Block of Ganjam district under Award theme ‘Healthy Panchayat’, Syasan Ambagam GP under Hinjilicut Block of Ganjam district under Award theme ‘Clean and Green Panchayat’ and Kulada GP under Bhanjanagar Block of Ganjam district under Award theme ‘Socially Secured Panchayat’ will receive Deen Dayal Upadhyay Satat Vikas Puraskar.
• Ankuli GP under Patrapur Block in Ganjam district will be presented the Gram Urja Swaraj Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar in Special Category Awards.
• Bonaigarh GP under Bonaigarh Block in Sundargarh district will be conferred Carbon Neutral Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar in Special Category Awards.
• Bonaigarh GP under Bonaigarh Block in Sundargarh district will receive Gram Urja Swaraj Vishesh Panchayat Puraskar at Speical Category Awards with Certificates and without financial incentives.

Moreover, Hinjilicut Block Panchayat of Ganjam district in Odisha will receive award as the Best Block Panchayat under the category of Nanaji Deskhmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar.

CM’s home district Ganjam has been nominated for the Best District Panchayat award under the Nanaji Deskhmukh Sarvottam Panchayat Satat Vikas Puraskar.
