Five youths dead in road accidents on NH 16 in Odisha

Bhadrak/Jajpur: In a series of tragic mishaps, five youths died in separate road accidents in Bhadrak and Jajpur districts of Odisha today.

In Bhadrak, two youths died after a car hit their bike on NH 16 while they were heading towards Dhenkanal from Jaleswar. The deceased were identified as Biswajit Rout (20) and Sanu Swain ( 19)  of Prabatia village in Dhenkanal. They were going back to their village after buying a paddy cutting machine when the mishap took place near Reliance Petrol Pump Chowk on the highway.

While family members were informed, the bodies have been seized and sent for autopsy at Bhadrak hospital. The postmortem will be carried out after the kin of the deceased reach Bhadrak from Dhenkanal, police said.

In a separate incident, three youths died after their bike rammed into a truck on NH 16 at Kadei Chhak within Badachana police limits of Jajpur district. The deceased were identified as Abhisekh Sara (22) of Barabati village within Dharmasala police limits of Jajpur district, Anchal Sahu (26) of Chadheidhara village and Debashish Nayak (26) of Baikunthapali village of Cuttack.

As per reports, the trio was going to Puri for Jagannath Darshan when they met with the tragic fate. The bodies have been seized and taken to Badachana community health centre and family members informed, police said.
