Forester caught red-handed taking Rs 10,000 bribe in Odisha

Sundargarh: Bijay Kumar Kothi, Forester, Rourkela Forest Division, Sundargarh district was today arrested by the officers of Odisha Vigilance for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs 10,000.

According to reports, Kothi had demanded the amount from one Raju Nag of Kuchelata village under Chandiposh police limits in the district for processing document and release of a seized vehicle.

Nag lodged a complaint in this connection with the anti-corruption agency, following which a trap was laid and the Forester was caught red-handed by the Vigilance sleuths while accepting the illegal gratification from the complainant at the Banki Forest Section Office.

The residence of the accused and his residential building located at Kenduapada, Sundargarh town were being searched by the Vigilance officers.
