Former Odisha legislator from Balikuda, Umesh Swain this evening joined the Biju Janata Dal at Naveen Niwas in presence of BJD president and chief minister Naveen Patnaik.

Swain had quit the Congress last month and met Naveen Patnaik earlier this month. However, at that time, Naveen was non-committal on his induction into the BJD.
