Former Governor S.C. Jamir bids farewell to Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha Governor S.C. Jamir was today accorded a ceremonial guard of honour at the Biju Patnaik International Airport here before he left Odisha following completion of his tenure on March 20.

Finance Minister Shashi Bhusan Behera, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Bikram Keshari Arukh, city Mayor Ananta Narayan Jena, Khordha Collector Nirmal Chandra Mishra, Twin City Police Commissioner YB Khurania among others were present at the ceremonial sent-off.

Jamir later left for Kolkata by an IndiGo flight at 10.10 am.

Notably, tenure of S.C. Jamir, who was sworn in as the Odisha Governor on March 21, 2013, ended on March 20. Bihar Governor Satya Pal Malik on March 21 took additional charge as the Governor of Odisha.
