Former Odisha HC judge sworn in as CJ of Manipur HC

Former judge of the Odisha High Court Justice Laxmikanta Mohapatra was sworn-in as the Chief Justice of Manipur High Court today.

Prior to his new assignment, Justice Mohapatra was working as the acting Chief Justice of Manipur High Court since October 21, 2013.

Born on June 10, 1954, Justice Mohapatra completed his degree in Law in 1977 and began his career as a lawyer.

Later, on September 16, 1999, he was appointed as a judge of the Odisha High Court. He was transferred to Allahabad High Court on October 17, 2012 where he was appointed as the working Chief Justice for a month from September 19 to October 20, 2013.
