Former Odisha minister Ripunath Seth passes away

Bhubaneswar: Former Odisha minister and ex-Bijepur MLA Ripunath Seth died, today. He was 67.

According to reports, Seth complained of chest pain at his residence in Barpali of Bargarh district. His family members rushed him to a private hospital, where he breathed his last while undergoing treatment. He reportedly died of heart attack.

A Congress leader, Seth served as the School & Mass Education Minister, Energy Minister and Sports Minister during the Congress Government in Odisha from 1995 to 2000. He was elected to the Odisha Legislative Assembly from the Bijepur Assembly Constituency in 1995.

Seth had unsuccessfully contested from the Bijepur Assembly Constituency in 2019 against Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik.
