In a press conference held here, Srikant Jena informed media that he has shot an e-mail to Prime Minister Narendra Modi posing several questions to him on the implementation of various projects among other things.

The Congress stalwart chose the opportune time to be in the news and target his political opponent.

“The mega chit fund scam has not only affected the residents of Balasore but also affected the entire state. I have sought answers from him on the reason behind the CBI having gone slow in its investigation,” Srikant Jena said.

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), however, rubbished the allegations.

“The Congress engages in petty things. We are looking for broader prospects. The government has launched various projects like AIIMS, IITs etc. The narrow thinking of the Congress has resulted in Congress-free India. The party is disappearing from across the country,” Arun Singh, Odisha in-charge of BJP said.
