Former Odisha spl secy gets 33 month RI for graft

Bhubaneswar, Feb 13:

The Special Vigilance Court in the Odisha Capital today sentenced a retired special secretary of Higher Education, Aditya Prasad Sahu, to undergo two years and nine months of rigorous imprisonment after convicting him on charges of accumulating properties disproportionate to his known sources of income.

odisha vigilanceThe court convicted Sahu for possessing illegal movable and immovable assets worth Rs 33 lakh, said Sunil Pati, Public Prosecutor.

The court also imposed a fine of Rs 3 lakh on Sahu.

The Vigilance sleuths had raided Sahu’s official residence and his house in the city in 2006 for possessing disproportionate properties worth Rs 33 lakh.
