Former Union Minister Dilip Ray tests COVID-19 positive

Rourkela: Former Union Minister and hotelier Dilip Ray has tested positive for COVID-19 and is currently under home isolation.

The ex-MP from Sundargarh took to his social media handle and informed this.

He said though people are being vaccinated but not everyone is inoculated. However, herd immunity takes time to build and therefore, precaution and safety measures are a must to keep everyone safe.

“On getting the initial symptoms of COVID-19, I got myself tested and the report which came yesterday was positive. Though there is nothing much to worry about as my health is fine, I wish to request everyone to not take this virus lightly. In the starting days, right from wearing a mask, observing social distance to other immunity-boosting measures such as consuming ginger-garlic water, etc I too took a lot of precautions but as time passed, I became complacent regarding the threat posed by the virus, the price for which probably I paid,” Ray wrote in his post.

So, it’s a humble request to everyone to not let their guards down at this crucial stage of fight against the pandemic. True that we have got a vaccine now but not everyone is inoculated. Herd immunity takes time to build and therefore, Precaution & safety measures are a must to keep us as well as our near & dear ones safe. I will be fine soon. On the advice of doctors, I have isolated myself. This is just to inform and advise you all that- Be Careful & not Complacent. The threat of COVID still exists!!!
