Former VC of North Odisha University loses battle to COVID-19

Bhubaneswar: Noted academician and former Vice-Chancellor of North Odisha University Prof Sanghamitra Mohanty succumbed to COVID-19 while undergoing treatment at a private hospital here today. 

She was 68.

Born on April 1, 1953, Prof Mohanty was also the president of Odisha Science Academy. She had made several efforts for promotion of Odia language.

Prior to her appointment as the VC of North Odisha University, Prof Mohanty worked as a lecturer, reader and a professor in Computer Science at Utkal University.
