Four arrested in Odisha for selling fake Aadhar cards

Four persons including a woman have been arrested and forwarded to court by Bondamunda GRP in Odisha’s Steel City on Sunday allegedly for preparing and issuing  duplicate Aadhar Cards and cheating a number of people of A computer and a camera used for the purpose have been seized from the accused, GRP sources said.

Two youths identified as Sikandar Alam (27) and Moin Alam (26), both residents of Ranchi,  had come to Shital Nagar area in Bondamunda and had claimed they are  providing Aadhar Card. The first to fall into their trap was one Sanjib Kumar Pradhan (35), a native of Chakdradharpur, who was residing at Bondamunda area and had come in contact with them.

Sanjib Kumar Pradhan got an Aadhar Card from Sikandar Alam and Moin Alam. Sanjib and his wife Manju had then persuaded about 38 people of the area to take Aadhar Card from them. Each of them paid Rs.100/- for the Aadhar Card.

On Sunday, Sikandar and Moin had reached Azad Hind Club at Bondamunda to take photographs and to do other formalities for issuing Aadhar Card, when several people of that area went to the Bondamunda GRP and expressed their suspicion that the people were being fooled.

Bondamunda GRP went to the spot and arrested Sikandar, Moin Sanjib and Manju. Police seized all accessories from them including computer and camera etc. On Sunday evening, police have forwarded all four accused to court.

“We have arrested  four accused and have forwarded them to court in this case. We are further investigating the cas,” said  G.Pradhan, OIC, GRP, Bondamunda.
