Four persons were arrested by Kharavelnagar police while they were planning to commit burglary in a posh locality in Odisha’s capital city here today.
A country-made pistol, one live cartridge, a bhujali, a sword, house breaking implements and torch lights were seized from them, police said.
The accused, identified as Raju Nayak (26) S/o Niranjan Nayak, SK Sabir (25) S/o SK Safir – both of Harijan Basti, Kharvelnagar – SK Hajibur Rehman (33) S/o Musibur Rehman of Masjid Colony Mali Sahi and P Chena Reddy (22) S/o P Bhima Reddy of Press Colony Basti, would be forwarded to court this afternoon, an officer of the Kharavelnagar police station said.
A case has been registered (Case No 253/15) under sections 399/402 of IPC and section 25 of the Arms Act against the accused, the officer said. All four arrested today are habitual offenders and have been arrested in the past in loot cases, he added.
