Four days after wedding, Odisha man allows wife to marry her lover

Sundargarh: In a bizarre incident, a tribal youth got his wife married to her lover at Kishanpada under Bargaon police limits in Odisha’s Sundargarh district after he came to know about their relationship.

According to reports, Basudev Toppo (24) married a 21-year-old girl of Jharsuguda district on March 4. Four days after the wedding, Sushil Pradhan (21), the woman’s lover, reached her in-law’s house along with his two friends identifying himself as her distant brother.

Moments later, Toppo found his wife and Pradhan in a compromising position. Being furious over the incident, villagers tied Pradhan to a pole and thrashed him.

The girl then admitted about their relationship and claimed that her family members had forced her to marry Toppo despite her unwillingness.

Toppo later got the girl married to Pradhan in the presence of her parents.
