Four educational institutions of Odisha among country’s top 100

Four educational institutions of Odisha have made it to the top 100 higher educational institutions of the country.

Bengaluru’s Indian Institute of Science (IISc) has topped the list, which was released by Union Human Resource Development Minister Prakash Javadekar at PIB Conference Hall in New Delhi today.

The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings for higher educational institutions, released by the Human Resource Development (HRD) ministry, has placed Siksha ‘O’ Anusandhan University, Bhubaneswar at 33rd position, National Institute of Technology, Rourkela at 46th place, Indian Institute of Technology, Bhubaneswar at 66th spot and Kalinga Institute of Industrial Technology, Bhubaneswar at 79th position.

Among other educational institutions of Odisha, C.V. Raman College of Engineering, Bhubaneswar has been placed at the 92nd position in the list of top 100 engineering colleges and Xavier University, Bhubaneswar has got the 33rd place in the top 100 management institutes.

Bengaluru’s IISc has also been ranked as the top university in India while the Indian Institute of Management at Ahmedabad in Gujarat is the top management institute.

The Indian Institute of Technology, Madras has been ranked as the top engineering institute; deemed university Jamia Hamdard in Delhi is numero uno in pharmacy category while Miranda House in the national capital has been ranked the best college in the country.

The rankings were made under five heads– overall, university, engineering, management and pharmacy.

Notably, the institutes have been ranked by the National Bureau of Accreditation (NBA) based on their teaching and learning resources, graduation outcome, perception, outreach and inclusivity and research productivity.

Launched in 2015, NIRF is a methodology adopted by the HRD Ministry to rank all institutions of higher education in India. (With IANS inputs)
