Bhubaneswar: Four people from Odisha were killed in a road accident in Chittoor district of Andhra Pradesh today.

The deceased persons include one woman and three men. They have been identified as Umesh Chandra Sahoo, Rashmita Sahoo, Trilochan Nayak and Bijay Nayak, all are from Pattamundai area in Kendrapara district of Odisha.

The four were killed and three others were critically injured when an ambulance hit a stationary oil tanker on the Chittoor Tirupati highway in the morning, media reports said.

According to reports, the four had been to Bengaluru for treatment at the Victoria Hospital. The accident took place while returning in an ambulance near Tellagundla Palle village early in the morning.

The injured persons were shifted to Chittoor Government Hospital for treatment.
