Four killed, 14 injured as jeep ploughs through village crowd

At least four people were killed and 14 others seriously injured when an overloaded jeep, carrying a bridegroom party, lost control and ran over people at Girisahi village under the Badampahad police station limits in Odisha’s Mayurbhanj district late on Thursday night.

According to reports, the bridegroom party was on the way to a nearby village when the driver of the vehicle lost control.

While four persons died on the spot, 14 others were seriously injured.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and admitted the injured to Rairangpur hospital and the district headquarters hospital at Baripada.

The bodies were later taken for postmortem.
