Four killed, eight hurt in road mishap in Odisha

Bargarh, May 23:

Four persons died and eight others injured, four of them seriously, when a Bolero jeep in which they were travelling, collided with a roadside tree near a bridge in Odisha’s Bargarh district district in the early morning hours today.

accidentAccording to police, some people of Chipilima village in Sambalpur district had gone to Barpalli in Bargarh district in a Bolero jeep to witness the Sitalasasthi Yatra on Friday night.

On their return to their village, the driver lost control of the vehicle near a bridge near Balijuri village on Bargarh-Bolangir road which skidded off the road and hit a roadside tree.

While four persons died on the spot eight others were seriously injured.

Following information, police rushed to the spot and admitted eight injured persons at the Bargarh district headquarters hospital (DHH) from where four injured persons were shifted to VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla as their condition became critical.

The four bodies were later taken to Bargarh DHH for post mortem.

The identity of the deceased was not known till reports last came in.
