Four killed, eight injured in Odisha’s Rajgangpur road accident

At least four persons, including a woman, were killed and eight persons were critically injured in a head on collision between truck and Bolero on NH 10 in Odisha’s Rajgangpur on Saturday night.

The injured were rushed to Rajgangpur hospital from where four critically injured have been admitted to ICU in Ispat General Hospital (IGH), Rourkela.

As per reports, a Rajgangpur-bound Bolero (OR 14W 1693) carrying about twelve persons collided head-on with an iron-laden truck (CG 04E 5085) while crossing Pada bridge near Ranibandha square of Rajgagnpur at around 8.15 pm last night.

While four persons, including one woman, died on the spot. Remaining eight persons in Bolero vehicle were rushed to Rajgangpur hospital. Four critically injured were referred to RGH and later shifted to IGH. They were admitted to ICU as their condition deteriorated.

The deceased have been identified as Mansad Samant (25) a resident  of  Jareikela,
Himli Lakra (60) and his wife Krishna Lakra (50)  residents of Beldihi and Isdar, a resident of  Tangargaon.

“We have seized both the vehicles and investigating in to the case. The driver of truck is absconding and we have launched a search operation to nab him,” said  S.P.Das,IIC, Rajgangpur police station.
