Cuttack, Sep 8:

Four officials of Kolkata based investment company ‘I-Core E Services’, which has allegedly duped investors in Odisha of around Rs 500 crores, were detained by Purighat police here on Sunday.

The detention followed a demonstration by the investors duped by the  company, led by members of the Ama Odisha Party (AOP), in front of a city hotel where these four officials were  meeting the agents of the company.

Sources said the Kolkata based investment company ‘I-Core E Services’ was luring depositors with attractive schemes through its offices across the state for the last seven years.

But the company allegedly failed to pay back depositors after the lapse of the stated period raising suspicion among the depositors about the credentials of the company, said sources.

The proprietor of the company Anukul Maiti is said to have close relations with some top political leaders in West Bengal and Odisha. Despite being in the list of companies black listed by the CBI, police had refused to act against I-Core, the protesting investors alleged demanding immediate refund of their money.

The Ama Odisha Party has demanded a CBI probe into the activities of the company and refund of money to depositors.
