Fourth accused arrested in liquor salesman murder in Odisha capital

Bhubaneswar, Apr 27:

Commissionerate police on Sunday arrested the fourth accused in the sensational murder case of a 35-year-old youth near Sriram Nagar Club under Lingaraj police limits late on February 2 night.

The accused, identified as Ashok Maharana of Khallikote in Ganjam district, has been forwarded to a local court here.

Earlier police had arrested three accused – namely Bubhu Jena, Chandan Jena and Arjun Behera – in the case.

Aditya Pradhan of Jagatsinghpur, a salesman at a liquor shop located at Garage Chhack staying behind Canal Road in Lingaraj area, was stabbed to death by six goons who came on two bikes after he refused to hand over the Rs 40,000 cash he carrying with him.

After closing the liquor shop, Pradhan was on his way to Sriram Nagar area, where the shop owner stays, to hand over the keys of the shop along with the day’s cash. Six goons followed him on a bike and stopped him near the club and stabbed him to death with sharp weapons to lay their hands on the cash.
