Free Civil Services coaching to economically backward students in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government today launched a programme through which free Civil Services coaching will be provided to economically backward students.

For this, the Higher Education Department inked an Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Dhyeya Educational Services Pvt. Ltd.

The agreement was signed to provide a comprehensive; quality based coaching to Civil Service aspirants of the State. The initiative will not only boost the success rate of the students in the state in terms of Civil Service examination but also give a chance to students to think and pursue Civil Service as a career.

The government will provide qualitative civil services coaching to Odia students at Bhubaneswar, as our students are unable to afford coaching in metro cities like Delhi, Hyderabad. The government has come out with an ambitious scheme by offering 75% fee waiver to students selected under the scheme, and 100% fee waiver to students with family income upto 2 lakhs per annum, a release of the department said.

On the other hand the department also signed an MoU with TCIL, Department of Telecommunication, Ministry of Communication, GoI to have Smart and Virtual Classrooms in 101 Degree Colleges (51 Govt. and 50 Aided Colleges). This will bring about digitization in imparting education to students in the most advanced manner. Each Smart Classroom will have Desktop, Interactive White Board, Short Throw-Projector, Portable Visualizer, White Board, Green Board, Wireless Microphone, Camera.

This will expose the students of Odisha to a system of modern & quality education which be faster, practical based with audio visual impact. The students of these degree colleges can learn through audio visual learning mode.

The teachers and students in the classroom can interact with the students of other degree colleges with the help of smart classroom. Through the advanced features the entire classroom teaching can be recorded and can be used for conducting classes for other students.

Bishnupada Sethi, Commissioner-cum-Secretary HE Department has signed both the MoUs with Rajiv Sahani, Group General Manager, TCIL and Kamrul Haq Khan, Director, Dhyeya Educational Services.

Anant Das, Minister, Higher Education launched Standard Uniform Syllabi for undergraduate students, keeping in view of the international standard syllabus which will enable the students for employment and research. To make the project a grand success, a committee was formed under Higher Education Department, Govt. of Odisha having Vice Chairperson of Odisha State Higher Education Council and experienced educationalists of the Universities. The Standard Unified Syllabi will be implemented after those are passed through the academic council. Dr Parthasarathy Mishra, Additional Secretary, HE welcomed the guests and educationist present in the meeting and also explained the utility of this endeavour of Higher Education Department.
