Bhubaneswar, Sept 16:
A cyclonic circulation formed over north-central Bay of Bengal off the Odisha coast on Monday is likely to take shape of a low pressure today.
Agro-meteorologist Prof SN Pasupalak, of the Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT), has indicated this in his advisory to farmers, based on his analysis of the IMD data.
“Under its influence, moderate to heavy rainfall would occur in the south and coastal districts in the next 24 hours. Besides, some parts of south coastal and interior districts would receive light to moderate rainfall during the period”, said Dr Pasupalak.
He has also informed that rainfall in Odisha would decrease drastically after September 17 due to the formation of a high pressure area in the 18.5 degree of the north longitude and 90 degree of east latitude.
Under its influence, weather in most parts of Odisha would be sunny and dry, he added.
