Bhubaneswar: Startup Odisha, an initiative of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSME) Department, Government of Odisha, organized ‘Odisha Futurecorn Meet,’ a startups’ meet which brought emerging startups under one platform to create an inclusive and robust startup ecosystem.
Dr. Omkar Rai, Executive Chairman of Startup Odisha, shared his vision to put the startups into a more successful trajectory and help them become the ‘Futurecorn’. He emphasized on various initiatives taken by Government of Odisha namely Funds of Funds, Ease of doing businesses, financial assistance in form of Startup Seed Fund, support to incubators to fast-pace the startup ecosystem.
The interactive session focused on gathering inputs from the startups to make the startup ecosystem more comprehensive, futuristic, and inclusive and to accelerate their growth journey with suitable interventions.
Startups sought help in areas like market access, common labs and testing centres, certification setups for various domains.
As many as 27 startups 6 incubators, hailing from diversified sectors, participated in the session. They included agritech, edtech, healthtech, biotech, foodtech, online marketplace, solar and EV and chemical etc.
“Startup Odisha shall be conducting consultation programs facilitating the startups and hand-holding them to create an enabling environment which will pave a seamless functioning path for the startups. In addition to that, we will assist them in overcoming any bottlenecks. In line with the excellence of Odisha, we aim to make Startup Odisha the most conducive and efficient startup ecosystem across the nation. We shall be taking all necessary measures to make Odisha the next ‘Startup Hub’. We envision to become the best Startup Hub in India by 2025,” said Executive Chairman Dr. Omkar Rai.
Senior officials of Startup Odisha Md. Sadique Alam, IAS, CEO, Dr.Sanjukta Badhai, Evangelist, and Dillip Kumar Maharana, OSD were also present at the event.
