Ganja smuggler arrested by RPF in Odisha; cannabis worth Rs 80K seized

Dhenkanal: Officials of Railway Protection Force (RPF) along with the Crime Intelligence Branch of RPF Khurda Road conducted a raid on a shop at Kunjakanta here and seized ganja weighing around 160 kg in this connection.

The officials arrested a person, who was carrying the contraband items worth around Rs 80,000. The officials later produced the accused before Dhenkanal SDJM court for further course of action.

It is mentioned here that, due to throwing of gunny bags consisting contraband items from running Howrah-Sambalpur Express near Dhenkanal, three on-duty gangmen had sustained injuries on August 11.

Acting on credible information, a team of RPF officials raided a shop at Refugee Colony in Kunjakanta of Dhenkanal and arrested one person, who is the mastermind of illegal transportation of contraband items. He was running the illegal trade with the help of his younger brother.
