Ganja smuggling: 32 kg cannabis seized, 2 held in Rourkela

Rourkela: Continuing its crackdown on ganja smuggling, the Rourkela police arrested two persons and seized cannabis weighing over 32 kg from a car during MV checking on NH-143 yesterday.

According to reports, while checking vehicles on Vedvyas-Kumarmunda Road, the police detained a car transporting the narcotic substances to Bihar from Sambalpur. Besides ganja, the cops seized the four-wheeler, four mobile phones and Rs 7,540 cash from their possession.

The two drug peddlers are Biswajit Kumar and Dinesh Keshari, both are natives of Bihar. Biswajit was staying in Railway Colony here.

A case has been registered at Brahmani Tarang police station in this connection. The accused duo was produced before court today, said police.
