Geo-tube sea wall repairing begins in Odisha’s Kendrapada

The repairing work of damaged portions of geo-tube sea wall at Pentha village under Rajnagar block of Odisha’s Kendrapada district has started, reports said.

A stone embankment will be constructed in front of the geo-tube sea wall after the repairing work. A team of Water Resources Department visited the spot and took stock of the situation, reports added.

Notably, the sea wall project, which started in 2012 for the safety of 54 villages near the seashore, is yet to be completed. As a result, high rising tidal waves have damaged the geo-tube.

“We came here to take stock of the project work. Any error in construction of the geo-tube will be rectified,” said Tankadhar Sahoo, chief engineer of Water Resources Department.
