Get onions free with smartphone in Odisha town

Balasore: Amid skyrocketing onion price and social media being abuzz with sarcasm over the matter, a mobile phone shop owner at Motiganj in Odisha’s Balasore town has come up with an unique offer under which smartphone buyers are getting onions for free.

Priyank Kotecha, the shopkeeper, commenced the offer yesterday and it will continue for a week. As per the offer, he is gifting one kg of onion to anyone buying a smartphone from his shop.

“I conceptualised the offer keeping in mind the price of onion and competitiveness in the market,” he said.

Earlier, a newly-wed couple in Angul district was seen receiving onions as gift at the reception party.
