Goods train derails near Naraj station, route cleared

Cuttack, Aug 6:
Normal traffic between Naraj and Dhenkanal was restored six hours after a bogey of a goods train was derailed at Naraj-Marthapur railway station in Odisha’s Cuttack district in the wee hours today.
“We have restored the railway traffic on this route at 9.05 AM after repair,” said SK Choudhury, ADRM, Khordha Railway Division.
Stating that a high-powered technical committee is probing into the derailment, he said necessary action would be taken after the committee submits its report.
According to reports, a goods train carrying coal from Talcher was on the way towards Bhubaneswar when one of its bogies was derailed near Naraj-Marthapur railway station at about 4 AM.
Following information, a team of senior railway officials of East Coast Railway (ECoR) rushed to the railway station for an on-the-spot investigation.
Due to the incident, three passenger trains—Bhubaneswar-Bolangir Inter City, Sambalpur-Puri Inter City and Angul-Puri Passenger— were diverted through Nirgundi.

This city houses Orissa High Court, SCB Medical College, Sisu Bhaban, Ravenshaw University, Shailabala Women’s college, National Law University, famous Barabati Stadium, Odisha Police Head Quarter and birth place of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Biju Patnaik. There should be twin city (Cuttack, Bhubaneswar) smart city proposal. I am also proposing people of Cuttack demand a branch of Indian Institute of Science (Banglore) should be setup in Cuttack, promote SBC Medical College to University status with all kinds of health related research better than AIIMS should be like John Hopkins, USA, Promote Shailabala to world class women’s university containing all kind of researches and promote Orissa Engineering School to premier full fledged engineering institute better than IIT with all kind of engineer departments and research. This city should have better sewer systems, wide roads and boulevards, shopping malls and beautiful river side parks and exercise facilities, beltway road surrounding the city from choudwar, Naraj to Bidyadharpur. River side road and canal road to be upgraded to 4, 4 lane wide roads with concrete paving and mono train running in different parts of city to surrounding towns. Everywhere city should have sidewalk. Redesign of medical road with sidewalk. Inside medical campus needs upgrade with side walk, parking, cleanliness. I can guide what to be done to make Cuttack to be very attractive. Demand for Indian Institute of Science (Bangalore), SCB Medical University and others.
