Gunrunning racket busted in Odisha capital; 3 held

Bhubaneswar: Busting a gunrunning racket, the Commissionerate Police today arrested three persons and seized two country-made guns and three live bullets from their possession.

Briefing mediapersons, Police Commissioner Satyajit Mohanty said a joint team of the Quick Action Team (QAT) and the Capital police arrested the accused early this morning. It is suspected that the trio had plotted a plan to commit any crime by using the weapons.

“A case has been lodged at Capital police station in this connection. An inquiry has been initiated to find out as to under what circumstances the trio had possessed the firearms,” said the Police Commissioner.
