Gurgaon woman’s kidnapping story false: Police

Gurgaon, June 4 :

The 22-year-old woman MNC employee, who alleged she was dragged into a car, beaten up and robbed of all belongings, filed a false case to hide the fact that she was with a male friend, police said Wednesday.

The woman was with her friend the whole day, having had lunch with him before they watched a movie in a mall here on Mehrauli-Gurgaon road, a police officer said.

“She created and narrated the fake story of her kidnapping because she did not want to tell her family that she was with her friend,” police officer Jai Prakash told IANS.

The truth was revealed when police investigated her mobile phone call record.

On Wednesday, the woman gave an affidavit to police regarding the facts and recorded her statement before the magistrate.

The woman had said she was kidnapped Sunday afternoon by three youths from the Sector 31 market, dragged into a car and beaten up. Her mobile phone, credit and debit cards and some cash were looted.

Police had registered a case of kidnapping and robbery at sector 40 police station.

The woman was later dropped near the HUDA City Centre metro station later that evening after dinner by her friend, not kidnappers, said police, adding she may soon face action for misleading police and registering a false FIR.
