Every year on January 10, World Hindi Day or Vishwa Hindi Divas is observed aiming to promote the use of Hindi language worldwide.

It all dates back to January 10, 1975. On that day, the first World Hindi Conference was held in Nagpur, Maharashtra. Later, in 2006, the then Prime Minister of India Dr Manmohan Singh, declared January 10 as the World Hindi Day.
