Cuttack, Aug 7:

The Odisha High Court has directed the Kendrapara SP to submit a detailed report on the action taken against the complaint pertaining to the death threat by Sarathi Baba to one of his closest aides.

High-CourtAdmitting a writ petition filed by Kailash Mallick of Dhola village under Nikirai police station limits of Indupur block in Kendrapara district, a single bench of Justice Kumari Sanju Panda issued the directive to the district SP. The bench will have its next hearing of this case on August 17.

The petitioner had informed the court that he had been working as a servitor of Sarathi Baba since February, 1998. He was given the identity of a security guard of the ashram. Despite working for 16 years, he was not paid any remuneration for which he had left the ashram six months ago.

“The torture began on me after I left the ashram. The Sarathi Baba, his son Satyam Sekhar Raula and their henchmen threatened to kill me and tried to implicate me in theft cases. Fearing threat to my life, I had lodged a complaint with the Nikirai police on June 23 this year and another complaint with the Sadar police after two days. As neither of these two police stations did register my complaint, I had met the district SP but to no avail. Finding no other way, I had filed a writ petition moved the High Court,” Mallick has said in his petition.
