Heat stroke claims three lives in Odisha

Nayagarh/ Khurda/Cuttack, Mar 22:  

Three persons have died due to heat stroke in Odisha on Monday due to sudden rise in temperature. The deaths have been reported from Nayagarh, Khurda and Cuttack district.

According to reports, 36 year-old Surendra Behera a native of Purnabasanta village in Ranpur area,had gone to collect firewood yesterday morning. On his return in the afternoon from the nearby forest he fell down. After he was taken to hospital, he was declared dead.

Similarly, in Kakuradrapur village Balianta in Khurda district, 35 year-old cloth merchant Purnachandra Jethi resident had died of heat stroke 12:30 pm on Monday.

While, in Tangi Choudwar block, Komango village,  52 year-old Das Dehuri , a mason was affected by heat while being engaged in mixing sand and cement.  He complained of head reeling and fell down. After he was taken to the hospital, he died there.
