Heat stroke death reported from Badamba

Badamba (Cuttack), Mar 25:

The rising heat has started taking its toll in Odisha. A 60-year-old man of Ragadipada village under Badamba police station limits reportedly died of sun stroke on Monday.

According to reports, the deceased, identified as Fakir Mallick, had gone to the nearby forest with some of the villagers to collect firewood.

While on the return, he fell unconscious. He was brought to his home by the villagers where he died later.

Following information, police rushed to the village and sent the body for post mortem to Badamba hospital.

The body was later handed over to the family members in the afternoon.

The villagers have demanded compensation to the family of the deceased.
