Heat wave continues in Odisha; mercury likely to rise by 2 to 3 degree C

Bhubaneswar: With the heat wave condition is prevailing in Odisha, the temperature is likely to rise by two to three degree Celsius across the State.

Even as no heat wave warning has been issued for specific districts, there will be no respite from hot weather during this summer and the mercury will rise by two to three degree Celsius than the normal temperature across Odisha, informed Bhubaneswar MeT’s LK Giri.

Apart from heat wave condition, the IMD forecast thunderstorm in parts of Odisha especially in south and north districts.

The thunderstorm accompanied by lightning is likely to occur in south Odisha districts such as — Kandhamal, Rayagada, Koraput and Kalahandi, Ganjam and Gajapati. Besides, the thunderstorm and lightning may occur in north Odisha districts like Balasore, Keonjhar and Mayurbhaj.

Such condition is likely to prevail during next five days, he said.
