Heat wave intensifies in Odisha

Most parts of Odisha came under intense heat wave with temperature soaring up to over 40 degree Celsius in 11 places in the state today.

Heat waveThe local Met office in a release here this evening said the heat wave would be more intense in the state in the next two days barring rain or thundershower at some places in the north-western and southern areas.

While Angul was the hottest place with 42.1 degree Celsius, places where the temperature hovered around 40 degree and above were Baleswar (40.6), Chandbali (40.5), Baripada (40.6), Jharsuguda (41), Sambalpur (40.5), Hirakud (40.6), Talcher (42), Titlagarh (41), Malkangiri (40) and Dhenkanal (40.6).

Besides, places where the temperature remained close to 40 degrees were Cuttack (39), Bhubaneswar (39.8), Keonjhar (39), Bhawanipatna (39.5) and Sonepur (38.2).
